Five different projects...seven gifts....fourteen campers...two teachers...five high school helpers...three fun nights of Creative Camp (holiday session)! Day one- We started their mixed media paintings using watercolors with different resist techniques including; salt, tape, and plastic wrap. We picked fabric for our soft sculpture and cut out the patterns. We printed on the wrapping paper using a mono print technique with stamps. We also used tissue caper to collage different colors for our tree holiday cards. Day two- We printed patterns on our mix media painting with silk screens. Each day students switch color schemes from warm to cool or cool to warm. We stuffed the soft sculptures that were sewn together. We also started our ceramic bird houses by rolling out all the slabs and stamping the texture. We cut out all the fused glass bits to put on the triangle clear glass shapes, they made three green triangles, six yellow and five blue. Day three- We put our last layer of paint on the mixed media boxes using acrylic paint mixed with gel mediums applied with brushes we made out of cardboard to create cool textures. We cut the slabs into the bird house shapes and assembled them together. We assembled the ornaments together for the kiln firing and created our cards using the tissue paper collage.
